What is alarm mode?

Alarm Mode


Alarm Mode provides additional visibility and control during an active alarm event through the Frontpoint app. When enabled, customers can quickly review what is happening and take action directly from their mobile device.

Instant Visibility


When an alarm is triggered, a dedicated Alarm Mode card appears on the app dashboard showing relevant video clips, live feeds, and recent activity to help you quickly understand what is happening.

To receive Alarm Mode alerts, push notifications must be enabled.

To enable push notifications:


  1. Open the Frontpoint app.

  2. Navigate to Notifications.

  3. Toggle Push Notifications ON.

  4. Ensure Alarm Events notifications are enabled.

In-App Cancel or Verify


Within two minutes of the initial alarm alert, you can confirm whether the alarm is real or false directly in the app. This helps prevent unnecessary emergency dispatch if the alarm was triggered accidentally.

Location Insights (Optional)


Location Insights can provide additional context during an alarm event by showing whether household members are home or away.

To enable Location Insights:


  1. Open the Frontpoint app.

  2. Navigate to App Settings.

  3. Select Location Services.

  4. Toggle Location Services ON.

  5. Set up Location Insights for Alarm Mode.

Location Insights can be configured for:

  • Home and Away

  • Home and Away + Distance
