My Motion Sensor is reporting a low battery status

Replace Batteries

Malfunction indicates that this sensor is unable to send signals to your security panel and may not trigger an alarm or signal for help in an emergency.

All sensors are designed to send half-strength check-in signals to the panel about every hour. If the panel does not receive a series of these the system will report the malfunction.

Check for a low battery signal in the history. If it has reported a low battery recently, change the batteries.

Battery Replacement

This Motion Sensor takes 1 CR123A battery. For steps to replace the battery, follow the steps below:

  1. Press on the round button on the top of the Motion Sensor while pulling the sensor away from the rear cover to access the battery.

  2. Replace the CR123A battery on the inside of the sensor.

  3. After replacing the battery, the sensor's red LED will starting blinking, indicating the sensor is warming up.

  4. Close the sensor by inserting the front of the sensor into the rear cover of the Motion Sensor until you hear a click.
