How does arming and disarming work with the Simon XT Control Panel?

Arm Away

  • Arm in the Away mode by simply pressing the MOTIONS button on the keypad of the panel, or by sending the Away command from the Frontpoint App and website.

    • The control panel will display Doors + Windows & Motions and will speak “Doors and Windows On, Motions On”. The Doors+Windows button and the Motions button will illuminate.

  • While arming for Away, the Control Panel will beep for 60 seconds. This countdown is called the Exit Delay which is the amount of time you have to leave the home and have the final door closed behind you before the system is fully armed.

    • If you would like to silence these beeps, you can press the Silent button to the right of the keypad. Note: Enabling silent exit doubles the exit delay time from 1 minute to 2 minutes.

  • Once the Control Panel is fully armed and a door sensor is tripped, the Control Panel will beep for 30 seconds. This countdown is called the Entry Delay, which is the amount of time you have when entering the home to disarm the system by entering your 4-digit code into the Control Panel. At the end of the 30 second entry delay, the Control Panel siren will start sounding.

  • About 30 seconds after the siren starts and the Control Panel is not disarmed you will begin to receive the phone calls from our monitoring station. Our monitoring station will reach out to the numbers on your pre-dispatch call list in the order provided to us, and ask for the verbal passcode. If you answer the phone and give the correct passcode, you may then request or decline dispatch. If you do not answer, or an invalid passcode is provided, the police will be dispatched.

Arm Stay

  • Arm in the Stay mode by simply pressing the DOORS+WINDOWS button on the Control Panel, or by sending the Stay command from the Frontpoint App and website.

    • The control panel will display Doors+Windows and will speak “Doors & Windows ON”, and the Doors + Windows button will illuminate.

  • While arming for Stay, the control panel will beep for 60 seconds. This countdown is called the Exit Delay which is the amount of time you have to leave the home and have the final door closed behind you before the system is fully armed.

    • If you would like to silence these beeps because you are staying in the house, you can press the Silent button to the right of the keypad. Note: Enabling silent exit doubles the exit delay time from 1 minute to 2 minutes.

  • Once a door sensor is tripped, the Control Panel will beep for 30 seconds. This countdown is called the Entry Delay which is the amount of time you have when entering the home to disarm the system by entering your 4-digit code into the Control Panel. At the end of the 30 seconds the Control Panel siren will start sounding.

    • Exception: NO ENTRY DELAY: Use the No Entry Delay feature when you are staying at home, or when you are away from home and can disarm your system before you open the door. No entry delay means that once the system is armed, if the door opens, the alarm siren will sound as soon as the sensor is tripped instead of giving a 30 second window to disarm.

      • To arm with No Entry Delay, Press Doors+Windows twice during arming. The Control Panel will display “Doors+Windows” and will speak “Doors & Windows ON, No Entry Delay”. The Doors+Windows button will blink and the 60 second exit delay will begin.

  • About 30 seconds after the siren starts if the Control Panel is not disarmed you will begin to receive phone calls from our monitoring station. We will call each of the numbers on your pre-dispatch call list and ask for the verbal passcode. If you answer the phone and give the correct passcode, you may then request or decline dispatch. If you do not answer, or an invalid passcode is provided, the police will be dispatched.

Disarmed

  • To disarm the system, enter your 4-digit code while the system is armed and the system will announce “Disarmed”. The panel screen will display disarmed and the Disarm button will light up.

  • The only equipment active during this disarmed state are environmental sensors.
