The Display Hub+ Gen 2 is the primary control panel for the Frontpoint security system. It provides touchscreen access to security, video, automation, connected devices, and system status.
Many of the same system functions can also be controlled remotely through the Frontpoint mobile app.
Customers can use the Display Hub+ to:
View live video from Frontpoint cameras.
Use two-way audio through compatible Frontpoint cameras.
Answer incoming doorbell call notifications from the panel.
Arm and disarm the security system.
Run configured Scenes.
Control compatible automation devices.
Use Bluetooth disarming with up to 5 phones.
Display personal photos as a digital photo frame.
Assign custom names to sensors and devices.
Select vocal announcements or one of 11 chime types for individual sensors.
View system information including available firmware updates, cellular connection strength, and service alerts.
The Display Hub+ supports up to:
128 sensors
137 automation devices
252 user codes
The current security system status is displayed on the Display Hub+ touchscreen.
Depending on the customer's equipment, the system can also be armed or disarmed using:
Frontpoint mobile app
Keychain Remote
Armed Away is intended for use when no one is remaining inside the home.
When Armed Away is selected:
All applicable security sensors are armed, including Motion Sensors.
A 60-second Exit Delay begins.
After the Exit Delay, the system becomes fully armed.
Opening an entry door starts a 30-second Entry Delay.
The system must be disarmed before the Entry Delay expires to prevent the alarm from sounding.
Armed Stay provides perimeter protection while allowing customers to move throughout the home.
When Armed Stay is selected:
Motion Sensors are not armed.
Entry sensors remain armed.
Environmental sensors remain active.
There is no Exit Delay.
Customers can use Quick Exit to temporarily open a door or window for up to 2 minutes before the system automatically re-arms.
The Entry Delay can also be turned off when arming in Stay mode. With Entry Delay turned off, an alarm will trigger immediately when an armed entry sensor is activated.
To disarm from the Display Hub+, select the current system status and enter a valid 4-digit Master Code or User Code.
When the security system is disarmed, environmental sensors continue monitoring the home.
An alarm can be triggered automatically by an armed sensor or manually from supported Frontpoint equipment.
The Display Hub+ provides the following emergency alarm options:
Fire — Requests fire department assistance.
Auxiliary — Triggers a medical alarm requesting ambulance or paramedic assistance.
Police — Triggers an intrusion alarm requesting police assistance.
When an alarm occurs, pre-dispatch contacts may receive a text containing a secure link to confirm whether there is an emergency.
If the texts are not opened, the pre-dispatch contacts are called.
The customer's correct Verbal Passcode must be provided to cancel an alarm by phone.
A Duress Code can be entered when disarming if a customer needs to secretly request police assistance.
Using the Duress Code sends a duress alarm signal and bypasses the customer's normal pre-dispatch contact process.
The Duress Code can be managed from:
Frontpoint App > Users > Menu next to Duress Code > Edit
Frontpoint systems may include:
Door & Window Sensors
Motion Sensors
Glass Break Sensors
Smoke & Heat Sensors
Additional compatible security, camera, and automation equipment can be added based on the customer's system.
Door & Window Sensors consist of:
Transmitter — larger piece
Magnet — smaller piece
The transmitter and magnet separate when the protected door or window is opened.
For proper operation:
The sensor components should be properly aligned.
The raised alignment marks should face each other.
The pieces should be mounted as close together as possible.
The source guide recommends keeping sensors within 100 feet of the Display Hub+.
The Motion Sensor:
Has a 90-degree field of vision.
Detects motion up to approximately 40 feet away.
Is designed to reduce detection of pets weighing less than 85 pounds when properly installed.
Motion Sensor status may display as:
Idle — No motion detected.
Activated — Motion detected.
The Activated status may remain visible in the mobile app for approximately one hour after motion is detected.
The Glass Break Sensor listens for the unique frequency associated with breaking glass.
The sensor can detect breaking glass within approximately 20 feet when properly positioned.
The Smoke & Heat Sensor monitors for:
Smoke
Heat above 135°F / 57°C
Smoke & Heat Sensors remain active regardless of whether the security system is Armed Away, Armed Stay, or Disarmed.
If smoke, fire, or excessive heat is detected, an alarm sounds and a red alarm screen appears on the Display Hub+.
The Frontpoint mobile app provides remote access to system functions including:
Home automation controls
Custom Scenes
Saved video footage
System and sensor history
Remote system control
Live video
Notifications
User management
Display Hub+ settings
Customers can use the Activity section of the Frontpoint app to view system and sensor history.
History can be filtered by:
Time period
Event type
Customers can configure custom notifications and notification recipients from the Frontpoint app.
Examples include:
Forgot to arm reminders
Door left open notifications
Scenes allow multiple system or automation actions to occur together.
For example, a Bedtime Scene could:
Arm the system in Stay mode.
Turn off connected lights.
Lock connected doors.
Available Scene options depend on the equipment connected to the customer's system.
Customers can manage several Display Hub+ settings from:
Frontpoint App > Security System > Settings
Available settings include:
Chime Volume
Voice Volume
Speaker Volume
Entry Delay
Exit Delay
Panel Wi-Fi
Customers can create additional User Codes from the Frontpoint mobile app.
Frontpoint App > Users > +
After a new User Code is created, allow a few minutes for the Display Hub+ to update.
Additional mobile app logins and permission levels are managed through MyFrontpoint.com.
A red numbered indicator on the Frontpoint logo in the upper-right corner of the Display Hub+ indicates a possible Trouble Condition.
Trouble Conditions can be viewed from:
Display Hub+
Select the Frontpoint logo and review the Alerts/Alarms section.
Frontpoint Mobile App
The Trouble Condition appears near the top of the app and can be selected for additional information and troubleshooting steps.
Cellular Communication Trouble or Panel Not Responding may indicate that the Display Hub+ is having difficulty communicating or has lost power.
Possible causes can include:
Panel placement
Large metal objects or appliances
Electronics near the panel
Cellular signal strength
Loss of panel power
The source guide recommends keeping large metal appliances and electronics at least 4–5 feet away from the Display Hub+.
If communication issues continue, moving the panel closer to a window or to a higher level of the home may improve communication.
A Sensor Malfunction indicates that a sensor is unable to communicate with the Display Hub+.
Possible causes include:
Sensor placement
Display Hub+ placement
Communication interference
Distance from the Display Hub+
Low or depleted sensor battery
The Display Hub+ contains a built-in backup battery to maintain essential security functions during a power outage.
The Display Hub+ should remain connected to AC power during normal operation.
If AC power is lost and the battery level decreases, the panel can enter Low Power Mode.
Low Power Mode may:
Turn off the touchscreen after approximately 20 seconds of inactivity.
Disable Bluetooth.
Disable camera streaming on the panel.
Reduce other nonessential functions to conserve battery power.
Sensor names are managed through MyFrontpoint.com.
Sensor naming may need to be updated in multiple locations to ensure the correct name appears in the Frontpoint app and is used correctly for Display Hub+ vocal announcements.
A bypassed sensor is temporarily excluded from active security monitoring and will not trigger an alarm while bypassed.
A sensor may automatically be bypassed when:
The system is armed while the sensor has a Trouble Condition.
A contact sensor is already open when the system is armed.
Customers can also manually bypass sensors from:
Frontpoint App > Security System > Bypass Sensors
Select the sensor or sensors that should be bypassed.
For contact sensors, the bypass remains only until the sensor is closed.
