Alarms from the Flood Sensor do not cause dispatch but RRMS will call and the siren will sound (trouble beeps only for the Simon XT, no siren). The alarm will stop once the probes are dry.
Both probes must be in the same puddle for the Sensor to detect water.
Some keys or other metal household items can be used to test the detection of the flood sensor. This is preferable to using water because then the alarm may repeatedly sound until the detector is dry.
