How can I automatically arm or disarm my system based on device actions or events?

Set up Rules in the Frontpoint app or website to automatically arm or disarm your system - making it more intelligent and responsive to any Smart Door Lock activity.

For inspiration to set up your own automated arming or disarming rules, a few customer favorites include:

  • Arm the system when you lock your front door's Smart Door Lock

  • Disarm the system when you unlock your front door's Smart Door Lock

Create automation rules using the Frontpoint app

1) Log in to your account on the Frontpoint app.

2) Tap on Rules in the navigation menu

3) Select an existing rule to modify it or tap "+" to create a new rule.

4) Tap Select to the right of "when" to select when the rule activates.

5) Tap Lock to select the Smart Door Lock to trigger the rule - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.

6) Choose the Smart Door Lock and action that will trigger the rule to start. Tap Done in the top right corner.

7) Tap Select to the right of "then" to select the action that will occur when the rule is triggered.

8) Tap Security Panel and select to either arm or disarm the system when the rule is triggered - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.

9) Choose the system status that the Security Panel will change to when the rule is triggered and then tap Done in the top right corner.

10) Tap Run at all times to select whether the rule will run all the time or at specific times and on certain days.

11) Enter a name for your rule.

12) Tap Save in the top right corner.

Create automation rules on MyFrontpoint.com

1) Log in to your account on MyFrontpoint.com.

2) Click Automation in the left-hand menu.

3) Click + Add New Rule.

4) Click New Rules Builder.

5) Click Lock to select the Smart Door Lock to trigger the rule - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.

6) Choose the Smart Door Lock and action that will trigger the rule to start and then click Done in the bottom right corner.

7) Click Select to the right of "then" to select the action that will occur when the rule is triggered.

8) Click Security Panel and select to either arm or disarm the system when the rule is triggered - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.

9) Choose the system status that the Security Panel will change to when the rule is triggered and then tap Done in the top right corner.

10) Click Run at all times to select whether the rule will run all the time or at specific times and on certain days.

11) Enter a name for your rule.

12) Click Save in the bottom right corner.

If you cannot see Rules on your account, please make sure your account meets the following requirements:

  • Frontpoint app version 4.21.5+.
