How does the Glass Break Sensor detect glass being broken within my home?
The Glass Break Sensor detects the breaking of glass within the home by using its microphone to listen for the sound of glass being shattered. The Glass Break Sensor is not able to pick up sound through walls and other large obstructions as the sound frequency will be muffled.
The Glass Break Sensor is designed to only detect a specific sound frequency emitted when panel-type window glass is broken. You don’t need to worry about setting it off by accidentally dropping a glass in the kitchen or hearing glass breaking on the TV.
